COURSES OFFERED

Our Direct Support Professional (DSP) Live Classroom is an essential 2.5-day training for obtaining DSP Certification. This engaging and interactive course provides participants with comprehensive knowledge of the biological, psychological, social, and spiritual aspects of the clients we serve. Through hands-on learning, participants acquire the skills needed to drive positive outcomes. Key topics include Developmental Disabilities, Mental Illness, Community Inclusion, Communication, Professionalism, Documentation, Sexuality, and Positive Behavior Supports. Go to Training 

Our Reportable Events Training provides crucial instruction on documentation and notification procedures during crises. This training, offered in both one-on-one and group settings, covers the steps staff must take as mandated reporters when they suspect abuse, neglect, or exploitation.  Go to Training 

This live classroom training introduces participants to crisis prevention strategies, focusing on early intervention and non-physical methods for managing disruptive behavior. Participants also learn CPI’s Personal Safety Techniques, designed to ensure safe and effective crisis management. Go to Training  

Behavioral Training at Hope Bay Services is tailored to each client. Before beginning a shift, employees review the client’s Person-Centered Plan (PCP) and any relevant Behavioral or Severely Intrusive Plans with their supervisor. This ensures that employees are well-prepared to implement strategies that address the client’s unique challenges.  Go to Training 

Our Cultural Competency training equips participants with the skills to effectively engage in diverse communities and workplaces. This course emphasizes maintaining a client-centered approach while navigating cultural diversity, ensuring respectful and inclusive interactions.  Go to Training 

The Maine College of Direct Support (CDS) online curriculum is a mandatory component for DSP Certification. This course offers comprehensive training on key areas identified as crucial for DSP roles, accessible entirely online for convenience and flexibility. Go to Training 

Our CPR/First Aid training covers the identification and management of potential hazards, emergency recognition, and appropriate first aid response. Participants learn essential skills to provide immediate care for injuries or illnesses until advanced medical help arrives.

The CRMA training program covers the role and responsibilities of a Certified Residential Medication Aide. Participants learn infection control practices, vital sign monitoring, pharmacology, and medication administration, preparing them to effectively manage medication-related tasks.

This training reinforces the responsibilities and skills required of Team Leaders and House Managers. It integrates State and Federal regulations with Hope Bay Services policies and procedures. The course includes performance evaluations based on a comprehensive rubric, ensuring adherence to program standards and quality service delivery.

Our Clinical Trainings are designed for Management and Director-level staff to deepen their clinical knowledge. These sessions, led by experienced in-house clinicians, psychologists, and nurses, cover advanced behavioral and medical health topics.

This client-specific training focuses on strategies tailored to individual client needs. It is designed to provide detailed guidance and techniques specific to the client’s circumstances.

Seizures Training is customized to address the specific needs and care strategies for clients with seizure disorders, ensuring that staff are well-prepared to handle such situations effectively.

Diabetes and Nutrition Training is client-specific and provides essential information on managing diabetes and nutritional needs. This training helps staff offer appropriate care and support for clients with diabetes.

The HCRM Learning Management System is an online platform used by Hope Bay Services for scheduling, tracking, and delivering training. It supports compliance with federal training mandates and offers a range of elective courses to enhance staff knowledge and skills relevant to their work with clients, such as specialized training for those working with clients with
autism.
